Help build a school - Holiday Fundraiser

At the Elements of Health Centre, we feel passionate about giving back to our community. Every year we choose one charitable organization to fundraise for throughout the holiday season. This year we've decided to support a local organization that's dedicated to creating possitive change within our global community.

One of our massage therapists, Jane Podmore, and her fiancé will be travelling to Uganda in January to help build a school with a wonderful Victoria based organization called Partnerships for Opportunity Development Association (PODA). There is a fantastic video on the PODA blog that shows how they are making each brick for the building by hand– it is a tremendous commitment being put forward to provide a space for education and will have a huge impact on this community.

There are a number of ways that making a small donation can help support this community in Bwera, Uganda.

• Dairy Goats for $50 - Receive a handmade goat fridge magnet to remind you of your generous contribution. Each goat is given to a family deeply affected by HIV, providing an ongoing source of income, nutrition and fertilizer (read more about this wonderful program).
• Golden Nail Christmas Ornaments for $20 - Receive a beautiful ornament for your tree to remember how your donation contributed towards 100 bricks in the school's construction
• Solar Panels for $20: Receive a magnet "solar panel" in exchange for providing the funding for one panel on the school's roof and 5W of energy so that the building can function as an adult learning and community cultural centre in the evenings
• Sewing Kits for $10: This small gift to you represents $10 towards supplies for the vocational sewing program

Another option is to help us decorate our EOHC Christmas tree at our clinic. Make a donation of any size (every penny counts!) and place one red brick ornament on our tree.  All of these donations will go towards the construction of the school.
